Japanese Language Translator;; – OPEN

As clear as its name, a translator is responsible for converting the texts in a comic raw into English. A translator must translate roughly everything, namely speeches, thoughts, descriptions; basically everything which is related to the development of the story. A translator must also have at least basic skills in English to be able to translate the texts properly.
Requirements
→ Knowledge of the japanese language and confidence in your skills.
→ Free time.

Japanese Test

Please answer the following questions!

  •  How much time have you been studying this language ?
  •  Can you translate without furigana?
  •  Any genre of manga you specially like and which one you don’t?
  •  Have you been in a scanlation team before?
  •  Please try translating the first 5 pages of this!

Experienced Cleaner;; – CLOSED

The cleaner is the one who deletes all the characters in the manga so we can insert our own translations on the images and making the product more eye-friendly, that comes also with the mission of cropping the scans, and sometimes even redrawing and denoising it. Experience doesn’t mean it must be someone who has already worked on a scanlation team before (even if that would be a plus!), but someone who is knowledgeable in editing programs and can help us to deliver a better product
Requirements
→ Knowledge of Photoshop & Topaz Denoise and confidence in your skills.
→ Free time.

Test

Please answer the following questions!

  •  Any genre of manga you specially like and which one you don’t?
  •  Have you been in a scanlation team before?
  •  Please try cropping, denoising, cleaning and redrawing these!

Proofreader;; – CLOSED

Their job is to proofread if the translated language (English) run smoothly or if it make sense.

Requirements
→ Know and understand the translated language (English) and its grammar rules at native speaker level.
→ Free time.
